A roomy kilim handbag cut from a vintage Turkish rug, the Celtic carries colour and pattern without needing a second thought about what goes with it.

This one-of-a-kind Necla piece is made from an authentic repurposed kilim in a flat weave, with a large central geometric diamond framed by dense tribal borders. Reds, black, olive, mauve and cream sit in stepped lozenges and zigzag bands, with small fringed corners and a soft grey fabric panel along the base. Bamboo top handles give a light, curved grip; a slim black shoulder strap clips on for hands-free wear. The reverse is the quieter plain face of the rug, so the bag reads bold from the front and calm from behind.

At 46 cm wide and 47 cm high it works as a daily tote for market runs, work papers or weekend bits, and sits naturally beside other textured home pieces when not in use. Because each bag is upcycled from a different vintage rug, the motif on yours is unique.
