Ethnicraft N701 Footstool-Blue

A low, square footstool in deep blue fabric that gives the N701 seating range a soft place to rest the feet or perch a tray.

Designed by Jacques Deneef for Ethnicraft, this piece shares the same channel-tufted top and generous padding as the matching sofa. The woven blue upholstery has a fine, even texture that catches the light across the quilted squares, while the sides remain smooth and slightly rounded at the corners. At 70 cm square and 43 cm high it sits comfortably in front of a sofa or armchair without dominating the floor.

In a living room it works as an ottoman beside the N701 sofa, or as a casual extra seat when friends drop by. The solid block form also holds a book or a cup of tea steady on its padded surface. Pair it with other modular N701 pieces in the same fabric for a continuous line of colour, or let it stand alone against lighter rugs and timber floors.
