A French pottery serving dish with a lively floral field, ready to bring colour to the table or sit as a centrepiece on a sideboard.
This round dish carries the raised signature of Jérôme Massier of Vallauris, a potter from the celebrated Massier family who helped turn that Provençal town into a centre of artistic majolica. The well is a soft blush ground, framed by a teal inner band and a dark brown rim with gentle scalloped handles. Across the surface sit modelled poppies in deep red, a white daisy, blue cornflowers, a yellow bloom, green leaves and golden wheat ears, all in glossy coloured glaze with clear relief.
The reverse is stamped Jérôme Massier, Vallauris (A.M.). It suits bread, fruit or cheese at the table, or stands alone as decorative ceramic on a dresser beside linen and glassware. The palette of teal, brown and bright florals pairs well with plain white plates and natural wood.
