A square Turkish rug cushion brings dense colour and heritage pattern to a sofa, armchair or bed, cut from reclaimed vintage rug and finished as a ready-to-use 40 cm piece with padding included.

This Necla cushion is handcrafted from authentic vintage Turkish rug, so the face shows the original kilim-style weave in deep red and forest green, with mustard, cream, burgundy, soft pink and touches of turquoise. Bold floral and geometric motifs are outlined in black, and the surface has the low, slightly nubby texture of old rug pile. Because each cover is cut from a different section of rug, the pattern placement varies slightly from piece to piece.

At 40 cm by 40 cm it sits comfortably as a single accent or stacked with plain linen and wool cushions. The reverse of this example carries a different arrangement of the same palette, with house-like and floral forms on a red ground. Pair it with mid-century wood, pale upholstery or other patterned textiles where the red and green can hold their own.
