Original 1899 French Catechism Print, Museum Framed

A museum-framed French catechism print brings genuine late-nineteenth-century colour and typography to a wall without the glare of ordinary glass. This original page comes from the Grand Album d'Images en Couleurs pour l'Explication du Catéchisme by Abbé Mouterde, published in Paris by Tolra for Librairie Saint-Joseph, and carries the approval of Cardinal Perraud.

The aged paper holds red and black lettering above a chromolithograph of Christ among children and disciples. It is floated within a cream mount so the original edges stay visible, then set behind non-reflective glass in a handcrafted oak frame with a warm brown grain. Overall the piece measures 58 cm by 46 cm, a solid portrait scale suited to a hallway, study or quiet corner beside books and timber furniture.
